Out From Under the Covers...

Oh my has it been a rough week! One of the beauties of working (and living) with kids is that they so very kindly share their germs... I knew when taking on my job that I would of course catch the odd cough or cold, but unfortunately sometimes you get hit a bit harder. I have literally spent the past 5 days on the sofa recovering from a nasty dose of tonsillitis. I have had almost a week of hiding under blankets and watching copious amounts of daytime (and middle of the night) TV. (In this time I have solved a murder in Midsomer, with the helpful knowledge of Miss Marple, while doing a spot of shopping at the Antiques Roadshow, all the while I have had Kirstie & Phil scouting out the perfect Grand Design for me to put all my wares. HAHA)

But moving on... Before I was attacked by yukky germs, I was able to finish the page I mentioned a couple of posts back, as well as make a couple of cards. The photos on this page were taken at our family picnic on Australia Day. It was such a beautiful day in tranquil surroundings, filled with much love and laughter with special someones. After lunch, Caitie and I were lazing on the picnic blanket when she proclaimed "I do hair Helly!" So without further ado here is the result:

Materials
Paper: Hopscotch (by Basic Grey), Bazzill
Embellishments: Pearls (by Kaiser Craft - website down, unlinkable)
Letters: Thickers ("Rainboots" in Powder by American Crafts)

Earlier this month was my best friend Jane's birthday (you guys first met her here). I was working for her birthday celebrations so we caught up a couple of days later and shared a delightful breakfast at a local new cafe. I hadn't made a birthday card in ages (gosh! I hadn't made any type of card in ages) and was so excited to put this one together. I am so in love with twine at the moment and was uber happy that I could incorporate it on her card.

Materials
Paper/Cardstock: Cherry Delicious (by Sassafras), Smoothies Cardstock (in "Kraft" by Bazzill)
Embellishments: Paper fasteners made using Circle Nestabilities die cuts (by Spellbinders), eyelets from my stash and Twine (by Kikki-K).

Well lovely peeps, that is all for the scrappy side of things. As usual, I will leave you with the most recent PAD pics for your viewing pleasure.

Ice-Cream Face

Oh my goodness am I on a roll. 2 Posts in 2 days, hehe! Well yesterday evening my head was feeling a little better and I just couldn't resist trying out some of my fabulous loot I got down in Melbourne. I was so excited when Melissa took me to Paper² - it is the BIGGEST scrap shop I have ever been to outside of the USA. In order to keep my budget at bay and not go too crazy Mel gave me a strict ONE hour time limit there. Amazingly I managed and we were in the car only 2 mins over time, I guess a girl on a mission can get things done FAST. I was ever so excited to find that they stocked Sassafras Lass' collections - including one of my favourite lines ever Vintage Yummy.

So this page is, surprise surprise, of Miss Caitlin. It was taken on a hot summer's day when we went to the city for her Santa photo. It was her first time having an ice-cream cone - didn't take long to work out how they go down. Love the funny faces she pulled!
(Yes that is my Easter Egg Tree you can see - I thought I would get in early, lol. Will post some pics of it properly closer to Easter)

Materials
Papers: Vintage Yummy (by Sassafras Lass), June Bug Collection (by Basic Gray)
Embellishments: Cherry Hill (by October Afternoon)
Letters: Thickers ("Typo" in Mustard by American Crafts)

Thought I'd also share a very cute pic of my baby girl Missy. She kept me company while I did yesterday's post and pics. Adorable or what?

Well that is all for now. I should go and try to do some homey things, like cleaning the bathroom ☺

Happy Scrapping!

Christmas, Roses, Polaroid Heart, Country Bumpkins & More!!!

Why Hello Everyone!
Yes I'm back! How very slack of me... a full 3 months since I last did a post, very very very slack indeed. So what have I been doing in this time I hear you ask? Lots & lots. Like...

❃ Having my bro & co over for Christmas/New Year. It was wonderful to spend time with them all and create more special memories with loved ones... just means many many many photos were added to my scrapping to-do list ☺

(My gorgeous niece & nephews: Hannah, Thomas & Jacob)

❃ Started a new job in paediatric nursing - yippee!

❃ Received my first EVER Valentine's!!! Lovely arrangement of 10 RED roses! However, I have no idea who they are from and the mystery is still ongoing - whoever you are thank you I really love them now that I'm over the shock of it all ☺

(Would just like to point out that these photos were taken a few days after the flowers were delivered - hence the dying petals. They were BEAUTIFUL originally!)

❃ Feeling very inspired over here by the beautiful and highly talented Elizabeth Kartchner! Was especially inspired by her polaroid heart and downloaded Poladroid in order to create my own. It is now up on my bedroom wall and makes me smile EVERYDAY!

❃ Continuing to be amazed by my adorable (adoptive) niece Caitlin. Had another 'photo-shoot' with her the other day, Country-Bumpkin Style... She did so well considering it was miserable weather, had just woken up from a nap and really just wanted to be at home having cuddles.

❃ Going down to Melbourne for a few days to visit one of my lifetime besties Melissa. Had such a fab time... saw the penguin parade at Phillip Island - they are so cute. Sadly wasn't allowed to take photos so the memories will have to stay in my head and heart, but that's ok too.

❃ Started making 60 invites for my lovely cousin Charmaine's 21st. Will post some pics once I've made enough that they look impressive, lol.

❃ Currently have an annoying head cold/ear infection. Ugh not fun! But at least it has meant that I've had to stop long enough to update here. Guess there's always an upside to downsides ☺

Wow! What a busy few months I have had. So I guess I should also put a page up... that would be the nice thing to do right? So this is a page I did recently of Miss Caitlin's first time on the swing. She was about 14 months and her hair was just long enough for a whale-spout, so cute! I apologise that the pics aren't the best - it's so hard to photograph a double page layout!

So that is all for now. I think I have made up for my lack of postings. I shall endeavor to post more regularly from now on... but we all know me! Hope you are all having fun and your lives are full of happiness, love, laughter, and special moments with your loved ones.

I'm Back!

Hello Hello!
Yes it has been a while indeed. No real reason except life has got rather busy of late. So right now I am sitting in the lounge of my sister's house in London and decided to upload some more pics for your viewing pleasure. This page is another of Miss C. The photos were taken when she was about 3months old - so a little while ago now. I used the Making Memories "Animal Crackers" range which I think is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! This layout is one of my faves, but then it could just be because I'm particularly fond of the little girl in the pics. Hope you like it! Will try and do some regular updating of my adventures while hanging out with my big sis.

Much Love,
H xxx

P.S. I will add a template for this layout when I get back home to Aus... can't remember exact measurements :-)

Introducing... Miss C

Hello! I would like to introduce you all to a lovely young lady by the name of Caitlin. She is the 13month old daughter of our good friends Kieran & Becky. Miss C shall be making regular appearances on my blog as many of the layouts I do are of her. She brings so much joy, love and laughter to our world and we are so lucky to have her and her wonderful parents in our lives. So here is a layout I did this afternoon starring Miss C and her fabulous pink hat. I was a bit apprehensive about using the bright pink as a base because there is so much pink in the photos, but I think it worked out well. I've also attached a template of the layout (including measurements) for your own personal use. Hope you like it!

Happy Scrapping,
H xxx
