A Month of PAD

Wow! A whole month since I last did a post. Rather slack of me and sadly this post will not help my case. This past month has been quite hectic and I've been busy wrapping up at school (holidays in T-Minus 3 Days, WOO HOO!!!). Have done a little bit of crafting in this time, as you will see with the PAD pics, but hope to do a load more over the holidays. Until then enjoy these pics.

Out From Under the Covers...

Oh my has it been a rough week! One of the beauties of working (and living) with kids is that they so very kindly share their germs... I knew when taking on my job that I would of course catch the odd cough or cold, but unfortunately sometimes you get hit a bit harder. I have literally spent the past 5 days on the sofa recovering from a nasty dose of tonsillitis. I have had almost a week of hiding under blankets and watching copious amounts of daytime (and middle of the night) TV. (In this time I have solved a murder in Midsomer, with the helpful knowledge of Miss Marple, while doing a spot of shopping at the Antiques Roadshow, all the while I have had Kirstie & Phil scouting out the perfect Grand Design for me to put all my wares. HAHA)

But moving on... Before I was attacked by yukky germs, I was able to finish the page I mentioned a couple of posts back, as well as make a couple of cards. The photos on this page were taken at our family picnic on Australia Day. It was such a beautiful day in tranquil surroundings, filled with much love and laughter with special someones. After lunch, Caitie and I were lazing on the picnic blanket when she proclaimed "I do hair Helly!" So without further ado here is the result:

Materials
Paper: Hopscotch (by Basic Grey), Bazzill
Embellishments: Pearls (by Kaiser Craft - website down, unlinkable)
Letters: Thickers ("Rainboots" in Powder by American Crafts)

Earlier this month was my best friend Jane's birthday (you guys first met her here). I was working for her birthday celebrations so we caught up a couple of days later and shared a delightful breakfast at a local new cafe. I hadn't made a birthday card in ages (gosh! I hadn't made any type of card in ages) and was so excited to put this one together. I am so in love with twine at the moment and was uber happy that I could incorporate it on her card.

Materials
Paper/Cardstock: Cherry Delicious (by Sassafras), Smoothies Cardstock (in "Kraft" by Bazzill)
Embellishments: Paper fasteners made using Circle Nestabilities die cuts (by Spellbinders), eyelets from my stash and Twine (by Kikki-K).

Well lovely peeps, that is all for the scrappy side of things. As usual, I will leave you with the most recent PAD pics for your viewing pleasure.

Eggcellent times!

Well in my last post I promised you all photos of this year's noodle boxes for the girls, and amazingly I remembered! While on last year's boxes I used pre-made die cuts for embellishments, this year I made a couple of them myself. Using patterned paper, Spellbinder die cuts
(circles/scalloped) and simply layering with foam dots to add dimension, I was able to achieve pretty little decorations (well I think so, hehe).

Easter Sunday morning Bec and Caitie came over for her egg hunt and morning tea. Before church in the morning Dad made a batch of the most yummiest scones! They were so divine and simply melted in your mouth. After, Miss C went-a-hunting and was thrilled with the delights she found. Amazingly after it was all finished she chose the 2 purple eggs and handed me the basket with the remaining eggs saying "Helly's eggs".

I will return soon with the next installment of my PAD pics, but until then happy Tuesday... well Wednesday now!
